Aims of The Meal Plan Site
The site that helps you improve your eating
Our goal is to have meal plans which can be used as a guide for individuals to follow to suit them – we aim to have eating plans for everyone: from your average Joe and Joanne Bloggs who work a sedentary office 9 to 5, to shift workers, farmers, builders and those in the armed forces and other professions.
We will have meal plans for people who enjoy different sports, from football to cricket, from bodybuilding to martial arts, from wrestling to golf and for those who enjoy their sport on a recreational level and for those who partake in it in a competitive or professional level.
We aim to include eating plans for all illnesses, clinical or medical conditions which require special dietary needs, and to provide guidance for these people and information on where to obtain any specialised products. There will be plans for diabetics, Coeliacs, food intolerances, post-injury patients, people with heart disease, right down to what to eat if you have a short lived sickness and diarrhoea bug.
There will be plans for different sexes and age groups from toddlers, through childhood and adolescence, through adulthood to old age (note we will not be covering infant feeding).
The Meal Plan Site (TMPS) was launched in June 2007 and is continually growing with new plans regularly being added with the aim to have plans to cover every sport, every medical condition, every age group and every profession.
All the plans on this website are merely an example, and all need to be adapted to suit an individual's own lifestyle, daily routine and nutritional requirements. None of the plans are definitive and serve only as a tool to educate – variety in food choices is essential. Plans are not just for use by individuals, other nutrition and health professionals may wish to use the plans as reference for their clients. TMPS also includes a number of useful recipes some of which will be linked to in meal plans. There is also some product information for less well known foods and health and sports supplements if they are referred to in the plans.
